Inflammation
C-reactive protein (CRP/hs-CRP) — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians
An acute-phase protein rising with inflammation.
Optimal range
≤ 1 mg/L
How a value is read
| Optimal | ≤ 1 mg/L |
| Above optimal | 1 – 3 mg/L |
| Markedly high | > 3 mg/L |
Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.
Why it matters on a plant-based diet
An inflammation marker. Critical as CONTEXT: with high CRP ferritin is falsely elevated, so a 'normal' ferritin does not rule out iron deficiency. Vegans tend to have lower CRP.
A single marker decides nothing
Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
