Inflammation

ESR — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate.

Optimal range

≤ 20 mm/hr

How a value is read

Optimal≤ 20 mm/hr
Above optimal20 – 40 mm/hr
Markedly high> 40 mm/hr

Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.

Why it matters on a plant-based diet

A non-specific inflammation marker (slower than CRP). Whole-food plant-based eaters tend to have lower inflammation.

A single marker decides nothing

Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
