Liver
Total bilirubin — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians
A pigment from red-cell breakdown.
Optimal range
≤ 1.2 mg/dL
How a value is read
| Optimal | ≤ 1.2 mg/dL |
| Above optimal | 1.2 – 2 mg/dL |
| Markedly high | > 2 mg/dL |
Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.
Why it matters on a plant-based diet
A hemoglobin breakdown product. Mildly high often from benign Gilbert's syndrome; markedly high with liver/bile issues.
A single marker decides nothing
Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
