Uric acid — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians
A purine-metabolism product; excess causes gout.
Optimal range
≤ 6.5 mg/dL
How a value is read
| Optimal | ≤ 6.5 mg/dL |
| Above optimal | 6.5 – 8 mg/dL |
| Markedly high | > 8 mg/dL |
Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.
Why it matters on a plant-based diet
Usually LOWER in vegans (few purines from meat/fish). If high, suspect fructose, alcohol or genetics; gout risk.
A single marker decides nothing
Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.

VEGALYSIS accepts any of these units and converts the value to the canonical one.
