Parathyroid hormone (PTH) — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians

The hormone regulating calcium and vitamin D activation.

Optimal range

≤ 65 pg/mL

How a value is read

Optimal≤ 65 pg/mL
Above optimal65 – 100 pg/mL
Markedly high> 100 pg/mL

Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.

Why it matters on a plant-based diet

Elevated PTH with low vitamin D signals secondary hyperparathyroidism: the body draws calcium from bone. A more sensitive bone-risk marker than serum calcium.

A single marker decides nothing

Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
