Minerals
Phosphorus — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians
A mineral of bone and energy metabolism.
Optimal range
2.8–4.5 mg/dL
How a value is read
| Deficient | < 2.5 mg/dL |
| Below optimal | 2.5 – 2.8 mg/dL |
| Optimal | 2.8 – 4.5 mg/dL |
| Above optimal | 4.5 – 5 mg/dL |
| Markedly high | > 5 mg/dL |
Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.
Why it matters on a plant-based diet
Linked with calcium and vitamin D in bone metabolism. Plant phosphorus (from phytate) is less bioavailable.
A single marker decides nothing
Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
