Potassium — optimal range for vegans & vegetarians
An intracellular electrolyte.
Optimal range
3.7–5.1 mmol/L
How a value is read
| Deficient | < 3.5 mmol/L |
| Below optimal | 3.5 – 3.7 mmol/L |
| Optimal | 3.7 – 5.1 mmol/L |
| Above optimal | 5.1 – 5.5 mmol/L |
| Markedly high | > 5.5 mmol/L |
Bands are given in the marker's canonical unit; values in other units are converted automatically.
Why it matters on a plant-based diet
A plant-based diet is rich in potassium (vegetables, fruit, legumes) — usually a plus. Deviations may involve kidneys or medications.
A single marker decides nothing
Deficiencies mask one another: high folate hides low B12, inflammation inflates ferritin, low zinc mimics iron deficiency. VEGALYSIS reads the whole picture and explains the links.
